When you select Publish from the file menu, what actually opens is a self contained web browser. While that browser is open, the rest of Stella isn't accessible, so it acts like a modal dialog.
To close this window, simply click on the x in the upper right hand corner on Windows, or the red dot in the upper left hand corner on Macintosh.
